Dr. Jeffrey Guy Grey Dr. Jeffrey Guy Grey

The Foundation was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Jeffrey Guy Grey. Dr. Grey, a native of Australia, was a highly regarded military historian, author of numerous books and held the Major General Matthew C. Horner Chair of Military Theory at the Marine Corps University from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Grey’s academic distinctions are noteworthy and many but perhaps his most unique was his selection as the first non-American President of the Society of Military History. His many friends and colleagues remember him fondly and he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Grey’s family at this time.

The Marine Corps University Foundation ensures that Marine Leaders are ready to fight when they deploy into harm’s way.

The term “elite” comes to mind when describing the United States Marine Corps because for over 238 years, generations of Marines have been most ready when our nation is least ready. In today’s highly unpredictable and asymmetrical world, “readiness” requires that the mind of the Marine be constantly sharpened in anticipation of tomorrow’s threats to global security.

Reaching over 80,000 Marines, our Foundation fosters the cutting-edge thinking in warfighting, leadership development, and regional studies that enables Marines to grasp the essence of unfamiliar situations and accomplish their missions … safely & successfully.

We invite you to learn more about how you can help ensure that all Marines – officer & enlisted, active duty & reserve – are Armed With Insight.
