Mr. Nicholas B. Lane

Nick Lane is senior executive vice president for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company and president of the company’s Retirement Savings division. Mr. Lane also serves on the company’s Executive Committee and as chairman and CEO of AXA Distributors, LLC, the wholesale distribution company for AXA Equitable.

In his role, Mr. Lane is responsible for all aspects of the company’s Individual Annuity and Employer-Sponsored businesses, including sales, business development, marketing, product development, in-force management and customer service.

Mr. Lane re-joined AXA Equitable from the parent company in Paris, where he served as senior vice president of Business Support Development for AXA’s U.S. and asset management operations. He also served as head of Strategic Planning for AXA Group. In this capacity, Mr. Lane defined the strategic direction for the company and collaborated with senior leadership teams in the U.S. to identify and executive business objectives.

He also played key roles as a member of the boards that oversee AXA Equitable, AllianceBernstein, AXA Investment Managers, AXA Private Equity and AXA Reinsurance Ireland.

Mr. Lane joined AXA Equitable in 2005 as vice president and founding member of the Strategic Initiatives Group. He was promoted a year later to senior vice president of Retail Distribution platforms, where he was responsible for enterprise operations and risk supervisory systems. He was later appointed vice chairman of AXA Network, LLC. In this role, Mr. Lane oversaw the company’s Retail Broker Dealer and Network business, as well as its enterprise operations and systems. He also served as a director on the boards for AXA Advisors and AXA Network.

Before joining AXA Equitable, Mr. Lane was a leader in the sales and marketing practice of the strategic consulting firm McKinsey & Co.

He holds a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Mr. Lane also served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps.
