Major General Leslie M. Palm, USMC (Ret) 
Major General Les M. Palm began serving as the President & CEO of the Marine Corps Association in August of 1998 after retiring from the Marine Corps. General Palm was the Director, Marine Corps Staff when he completed his career of more than 31 years. General Palm¹s career began when he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in November of 1966 after graduating from the University of Oregon. Upon graduation from the U.S. Army Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma he was assigned to 1st BN 13th Marines in Viet Nam where he served as a forward observer, fire direction officer and 155mm Gun, and 8 inch platoon commander. In subsequent artillery assignments, General Palm commanded artillery units at the battery, battalion and regimental level. As a general officer, he commanded the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at 29 Palms, California. His staff assignments included tours at headquarters, Marine Corps in the Manpower Department, as the aide to the Assistant Commandant, the Military Assistant to the Assistant Commandant, and the Secretary of the General Staff. He is a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Naval War College. He earned a Masters of Military Arts and Sciences while at Fort Leavenworth. General Palm and his wife Suzanne have two grown children, Tori Palm Bayer and Brian and one grandchild, Emory. |
